About Card BIN Checker

Our mission

Card BIN Checkerexists to make working with payment card numbers simple, fast and private. Whether you’re a developer building a checkout, a support agent identifying an issuer, or just curious about the numbers on your card, our tools give you clear answers without asking anything of you.

How it works

Validation, formatting, Luhn checks, network detection and test-card generation are pure calculations performed entirely in your browser — they make no network requests carrying your input. The BIN Checker is the exception: to return the richest, most current details it sends only the 6-8 digit BIN prefix (never a full card number) to a third-party lookup API, falling back to an open-source database bundled with the site when the API is unavailable. There is no backend of our own, no account, and we never ask for or store a full card number.

Privacy first

We built the tool we wanted to use: one that never asks for a full card number to look up a BIN, never stores what you type, and shows no tracking cookies. Read more in our Privacy Policy.

Our data

BIN data is derived from the open bin-list-data project (CC BY 4.0). Network prefix, length and grouping rules follow publicly documented conventions. All of it is best-effort and provided for information only — see our disclaimer.

Card BIN Checker is operated independently by the Card BIN Checker team. We’re supported by non-intrusive advertising so the tools can stay free for everyone.
